I'm all about the atmosphere. This feels like the family restaurants I grew up in, complete with the little league team and pitchers of soda on the menu. When I was there, it was the perfect little Tampa microcosm: families, a table of construction workers, two elderly gentlemen griping, the absolute best vibe... it's Dale above the register instead of Elvis like it was back home, but I can be reasonable. It seems like it's a longtime staff that are close, with a lot of regulars. Service was efficient and friendly; prompt, as well, especially considering I seem to have walked in with half the neighborhood! This was my first visit and everything was great and seemingly all made from scratch. The prices are very reasonable and the portion of the dinner entree is enough for two VERY generous portions. I will definitely be back and have finally found a new Italian spot since moving over the bridge last year. Highly recommended!
This is what old school is all about... Fantastic food and attentive staff... They don't make'em like this anymore.... I LOVE THIS BAR and restaurant... Hahaha
We love coming here ! Service is always fast and friendly, and the pizza is amazing. The pizza is special here because it's always perfectly cooked , never soggy and my partner actually eats the crust here (he never eats the crust) so you know it's good the wings are also on point , never over done and great flavor. The vibe is giving Italian uncles pizza place and I'm here for it.
Subs and salads are great! Love all the TV to choose from. Service was good. Not a fancy place but very comfortable.
Don't judge a book by its cover. Tates doesn't look like much from the curb. Inside you'll find great authentic Italian- American food. We were a group of 20 taking up nearly an entire dining room. With 20 separate orders. Everyone was happy with their meal. Not one complaint. Our server handled the endless wine, water, soft drink, and bread requests efficiently and with a smile. Tates gets 20 thumbs ups.
